Maple Finance (SYRUP): Withdrawals Can Depend on a Queue and Available Liquidity
Maple Finance is an onchain credit platform with lender pools and managed lending products. SYRUP is its current governance asset; legacy MPL no longer carries protocol utility. This page focuses on withdrawals Can Depend on a Queue and Available Liquidity and the checks users need before using the protocol or evaluating the token role.
Evaluate a Maple lending pool and current SYRUP role without confusing legacy MPL or pool shares with guaranteed deposits.

Withdrawals Can Depend on a Queue and Available Liquidity
A valid withdrawal request can still wait for its pool mechanism.
Maple Finance workflow from the first user decision to a verified outcome.
Request, process and redeem
Queue-based pools require a lender to request redemption before shares can be processed. The withdrawal manager orders requests and makes liquidity available under current rules. Some interfaces process the final transfer for the lender; other contract flows expose redeem steps. Available preview values can be zero while a wallet is not eligible to exit.
Record the requested share amount and queue state, and keep the host-chain gas asset available for any required action. Do not assume a target processing time is a guarantee. Loan maturities, new deposits, manager operations, impairments and market conditions can affect available cash. Canceling a request returns shares only under the applicable manager logic.
A Maple Pool Is a Credit Position, Not a Bank Balance
Pool shares represent a claim on a managed lending strategy with real borrower exposure.
Deposit, shares and loan allocation
Lenders deposit the pool funds asset and receive ERC-4626-style shares. Pool contracts track assets and share ownership, while managers, permission settings and withdrawal managers define who can enter and exit. Capital can support open-term or fixed-term loans and other disclosed strategies. Interest and repayments can increase share value; losses and impairments can reduce it.
Before depositing, verify the chain, pool address, funds asset, permission requirements, manager, fee schedule, borrower or strategy exposure and current liquidity. A tokenized share is not the same as the deposited stablecoin and should not be sent to an exchange. The displayed APY can change as loans repay, utilization moves or strategy composition changes.
Impairment and Default Change Pool Value
Onchain accounting makes credit events visible but does not remove credit risk.
Borrower, collateral and manager exposure
If a loan appears unlikely to pay, a manager can mark an impairment under the product rules, reducing recognized pool value before a formal default. A default can write down principal and apply recoveries or collateral proceeds. Legal agreements, underwriting, collateral and smart contracts can all affect the final loss and timing.
Review the active loan book, concentration, collateral, manager disclosures and impairment status. Withdrawing during an impairment can crystallize a reduced value and may forfeit later recoveries under product terms. Do not describe a pool as risk-free because loans are overcollateralized, or compare its yield with a liquid token without accounting for withdrawal and credit constraints.
SYRUP Replaced MPL as the Current Protocol Token
Legacy token instructions have a firm cutoff.
Migration and current roles
Maple converted MPL to SYRUP at a documented ratio through a time-limited migration. The conversion program ended in 2025 and is permanently disabled. MPL and xMPL no longer carry current Maple governance or staking utility. Current participation uses SYRUP and the governance representation defined by live protocol rules.
Do not connect to a site claiming it can reopen conversion or send legacy tokens to a current pool. Verify the SYRUP contract and host chain before transfer. Lenders do not need SYRUP merely to own a pool share; assess the lending product and governance token as separate positions with different cash flows and risks.
