Chiliz (CHZ): CHZ Powers Chiliz Chain Transactions and Staking

Chiliz Chain is an EVM-compatible network focused on sports and entertainment applications. CHZ is its native gas and staking asset; team and league Fan Tokens are separate assets with issuer-specific uses. This page focuses on cHZ Powers Chiliz Chain Transactions and Staking and the checks users need before using the protocol or evaluating the token role.

Use CHZ on Chiliz Chain while understanding gas, staking, Fan Token and network-representation differences.

CHZ Powers Chiliz Chain Transactions and Staking

The native chain balance is used differently from an exchange-held or external CHZ representation.

Gas, delegation and custody

CHZ pays gas for transfers and EVM contract calls on Chiliz Chain. Validators use stake and operational infrastructure to participate in block production, while delegators allocate CHZ to validator pools under current reward and slashing rules. CHZ can also exist in supported external representations that use the host chain fee asset instead.

Check chain ID and destination support before withdrawing. Keep CHZ available for Chiliz Chain gas and the host asset for another network. Delegation is not a fixed return: compare validator status, commission, performance, lock or unbonding behavior and slashing exposure before signing.

Chiliz Transaction and Fee Checks

Many validators can be active while only the configured block-producing set takes turns creating blocks.

Validators, queue and finality

Chiliz Chain documents a Proof of Staked Authority model. Block-producing validators take turns proposing and validating blocks; other active validators can remain queued. Double-sign detection, jailing and slashing rules are intended to discourage conflicting or unavailable behavior and support network stability and finality.

Applications should wait for an appropriate confirmation policy and monitor reorganization or service status instead of treating a submitted transaction as final. Delegators should understand that a validator can move between active, queued or jailed states. EVM compatibility does not make Chiliz consensus identical to Ethereum consensus.

Fan Tokens Are Not Interchangeable With CHZ

A sports-branded token can use Chiliz infrastructure without becoming the network gas asset.

Issuer and application scope

Fan Tokens are separately issued assets associated with a club, league or entertainment partner and can support polls, rewards or experiences defined by that issuer and application. Their contract, supply, eligibility and benefits differ from CHZ. Holding CHZ alone does not grant every Fan Token benefit, and holding a Fan Token does not pay ordinary Chiliz Chain gas.

Verify the issuing organization, contract, network and current utility before purchase. Benefits can be time-limited, regional or application-dependent. A poll is not corporate governance unless explicitly documented, and a token does not normally represent equity, player rights, ticket ownership or a guaranteed meeting with a team.

Choose the Next Chiliz Check

Network users, delegators and sports-app users need different checks.

Transaction and participation checklist

Network users should verify chain ID, destination and gas. Delegators should verify validator address, pool state, commission and unbonding. Sports-app users should confirm the exact Fan Token, issuer and benefit terms. Developers should test RPC, gas estimation, contract verification and confirmation handling on the correct environment.

Send a small test to new custody routes and preserve the transaction hash. Do not bridge or withdraw based only on ticker. Keep account recovery separate from wallet recovery and revoke unused approvals. Use validator tools for addresses, developer tools for contracts and the current Chiliz documentation for network parameters.

Where Chiliz Differs for Users

The CHZ result needs context

Proof of Staked Authority validators create and validate blocks, delegators allocate CHZ to validator pools, and EVM applications execute transactions whose gas is paid in CHZ.

A Chiliz transaction can execute successfully while the application state, contract permission or later exit remains wrong for the user's goal. CHZ is the market asset shown in the snapshot. CHZ pays transaction and smart-contract gas on Chiliz Chain.

What Chiliz users should verify and why this design differs

Validator, bridge and Fan Token rules can change. EVM compatibility does not imply Ethereum consensus.

For Chiliz, the practical sequence is Choose network, Fund fee asset, Review action, Execute, Check finality. Confirm the official destination and current network, then inspect the final balance, position, receipt or documented exit state that actually completes the task: Use CHZ on Chiliz Chain while understanding gas, staking, Fan Token and network-representation differences.

Chiliz Network use FAQ

What pays Chiliz Chain gas?

CHZ pays gas on Chiliz Chain.

Is CHZ the same as a team Fan Token?

No. Fan Tokens are separately issued assets.

Can every active validator produce blocks immediately?

No. The block-producing set is limited and other active validators can be queued.
