Lock, attest and redeem
A bridge records or locks canonical tokens and authorizes a corresponding representation on the destination chain. Moving back requires the supported redemption path and can involve source confirmation, guardian or message verification, destination gas and relayer behavior. A normal wallet transfer does not perform that bridge operation.
Confirm source, destination, token contract, amount, bridge route and both gas balances before signing. Preserve the source transaction and message identifier. Bridge compromise, pause, liquidity shortage or unsupported interface changes can affect redemption even when the local destination token transfers successfully.
